An Open House job refers to a hiring event where employers invite job seekers to learn about available positions, meet hiring managers, and sometimes participate in on-the-spot interviews. These events are often used for high-volume hiring or urgent job openings. Attendees can ask questions, submit resumes, and potentially receive job offers quickly.

As an Open House Host, your main responsibilities include preparing the property for showing, greeting and engaging visitors, answering questions, and collecting contact information for leads. You may also need to coordinate with real estate agents, manage scheduling, and ensure that the property is presented in its best light. Common challenges include handling multiple visitors at once, addressing unexpected issues on-site, and ensuring follow-up with potential buyers. This role requires strong multitasking skills and the ability to create a welcoming environment that encourages interest in the property.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the open house position, and why are they important?

To excel as an Open House Host, you need strong organizational skills, familiarity with real estate practices, and a keen attention to detail, typically supported by experience in real estate or property management. Proficiency with scheduling software, CRM systems, and tools for marketing or virtual tours is highly valuable. Outstanding interpersonal communication, a welcoming demeanor, and problem-solving abilities help create a positive experience for visitors and clients. These skills ensure successful property showings, effective lead generation, and positive client relationships, all of which are critical for property sales or rentals.

Job description

You Earned Your License. Now Learn How to Build a Career.

Getting your real estate license is an exciting first step—but it doesn’t automatically teach you how to find clients, host open houses, follow up with leads, or close your first transaction.

Hart Jahoo Real Estate Group is looking specifically for newly licensed North Carolina real estate agents who want hands-on training, one-on-one mentorship, and a clear plan for building a full-time career.

You don’t need an existing client list or years of sales experience. We’ll help you learn what to do from your first open house to your first client and your first closing.

What You’ll Learn:

We teach new agents how to create opportunities instead of waiting for leads to appear.

Your training will include:

- How to host an effective open house

- How to meet and connect with prospective clients

- How to generate leads through open houses, farming, and prospecting

- How to organize and follow up with leads using Lofty CRM

- How to turn conversations into appointments

- How to conduct buyer and seller consultations

- How to understand contracts and the transaction process

- How to communicate confidently with clients

- How to manage your time and daily activities

- How to build a dependable pipeline and sustainable business

One-on-One Open-House Training:

You won’t be sent to an open house without knowing what to do.

Broker and Owner Julian Jahoo personally provides one-on-one open-house training. You’ll learn how to prepare, welcome visitors, start conversations, identify potential clients, and follow up after the event.

New agents may also participate in our 100-Day, 100-Open-House Challenge. This program is designed to help you gain experience, build confidence, meet prospective clients, and develop the habits required for success.

Personal Mentorship:

You won’t receive a login and be left to figure out the business alone.

Reese Jahoo, our Director of Mentorship, provides individualized onboarding and guidance based on your experience and development needs.

You’ll also participate in weekly, in-person training focused on the practical skills and activities new agents need to build their businesses.

Your mentors will help you understand what to do each day, practice your skills, answer questions, and stay accountable.

Support for New Agents:

As a Hart Jahoo agent, you’ll have access to:

- Step-by-step onboarding

- One-on-one mentorship

- Weekly, in-person training

- Individual open-house instruction

- Coaching and accountability

- Lofty CRM training

- Lead-generation and follow-up systems

- Operations and back-office support

- Two inside sales agents

- Listing coordination

- Transaction and administrative support

- A full-time Director of Marketing

- Custom marketing materials and branded content

- Professional property photography, signage, and media resources

- No monthly brokerage fees

- LPT Realty’s technology, tools, and nationwide network

New-Construction Opportunities:

Hart Jahoo works with developers throughout the Triangle and has access to a significant pipeline of new-construction communities.

As you develop your skills, you may have opportunities to:

- Learn how new-construction transactions work

- Meet buyers visiting new communities

- Build relationships with developers and builders

- Represent new-construction buyers

- Develop expertise in growing Triangle markets

What You’ll Do:

- Treat real estate as a full-time career

- Attend weekly training and coaching sessions

- Host open houses consistently

- Prospect and build your database

- Follow up with leads using Lofty CRM

- Practice buyer and seller consultations

- Learn contracts, neighborhoods, and market conditions

- Respond to prospective clients promptly

- Work directly with mentors to improve your skills

- Collaborate with the team’s agents and support staff

- Provide every client with professional, honest, and thoughtful service

Who We’re Looking For:

This opportunity is specifically designed for new agents who are:

- Newly licensed in North Carolina

- Ready to pursue real estate as a full-time career

- Coachable and willing to follow a proven process

- Comfortable learning through practice and repetition

- Willing to host open houses and prospect consistently

- Organized and committed to following up

- Comfortable meeting new people

- Motivated, dependable, and accountable

- Patient enough to build a business one relationship at a time

- Ready to work hard and grow with a supportive team

Previous real estate sales experience is not required.

What Success Requires:

We’ll provide the training, mentorship, systems, and support. You must bring the effort.

Real estate is simple, but it isn’t easy. Success requires consistent prospecting, follow-up, practice, patience, and accountability.

This is not intended to be a casual side hustle. It’s an opportunity for someone who wants to build a stable, long-term career.

About Hart Jahoo:

Hart Jahoo is a collaborative real estate team built around service, strategy, and integrity.

With more than $500 million in team sales volume and over 800 buyers and sellers represented, our experienced team provides new agents with the knowledge, systems, and support needed to grow.

If you recently earned your real estate license and are wondering what to do next, we’d like to meet you.

Join Hart Jahoo and learn how to generate opportunities, serve clients confidently, and build a real estate career designed to last.
