The School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio invites doctoral prepared nurses to apply for faculty positions to provide teaching in our graduate programs. Qualified applicants with clinical experience as a PMHNP and academic teaching experience may apply for an academic faculty role with the School of Nursing. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimal Requirements

Education

· A PhD or DNP or appropriate doctoral degree.

· A PMHNP is required.

Certification/Licensure

· A Texas RN license is required.

· Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).

· A Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license is required.

Experience

· Actively practice as a PMHNP for minimally, 3 years.

· Academic experience, to include didactic and clinical teaching experience preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the PMHNP Track Coordinator and the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies the faculty will be responsible for:

· Assist in designing, implementing, and revising the curriculum for the PMHNP track, ensuring it meets accreditation standards and reflects current best practices.

· Provide classroom and clinical instruction.

· Provide academic and professional guidance to students. Offer support and resources to help students succeed in the program.

· Participate in ongoing evaluation and assessment of the BSN to DNP program, PMHNP track, including student learning outcomes, program effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards.

· Implement improvements based on assessment data.

· Collaborate with the PHMNP track faculty and admissions team to recruit, interview qualified candidates for the program. Represent the program at recruitment events, conferences, and professional meetings.

· Foster partnerships with healthcare organizations for collaboration, clinical practice, and quality improvement projects.

· Engage in scholarly activities.

· Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to program administration.

· Stay abreast of practice developments and education methodologies.

· Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards, regulations, and institutional policies.

· Other duties as assigned.

The School of Nursing is at the forefront of academic nursing, leading excellence through innovative teaching, quality research, compassionate care, and community service in South Texas and beyond. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including BSN, DNP and PhD degrees and specialty certificates. Today, the school’s enrollment consists of 261 graduate students and 755 undergraduate students, including 37% first generation college students and 19% male nursing students, almost twice the national average. Benefits Overview

UT Health San Antonio offers an excellent benefits package for its employees. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months, are eligible for benefits.

Medical - UT SELECT Medical insurance is offered free for fulltime employees and administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Family members can be added to the plan through payroll deduction. Employees and their dependents can also receive discounted copays and coinsurance when using UT Health Physicians, a network of 800 premier physicians including more than 100 specialists. Employees receive $50,000 of group term life insurance and $50,000 of basic accidental death and dismemberment insurance for free, with options to purchase additional employee and dependent coverage for both at group rates.

Dental - Three dental insurance plan options are available for employees and their families through Delta Dental Insurance Company, two PPOs and one dental HMO plan. Both PPO plans allow employees to choose any licensed dentist.

Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:

Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.

Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.

Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.

Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each fiscal year.
