Job description

Position Description Copper Mountain College is now hiring Student Tutors. The TASC regularly hires tutors in all subjects, especially the sciences, math, and English. Please contact the TASC coordinator, Dr.

David Charbonneau, at dcharbonneau@cmccd.edu to inquire about current staffing needs before applying. Jobs are in-person on campus. Work up to 20 hours per week according to your schedule

Copper Mountain College offers students the opportunity to help other students achieve academic success by becoming a tutor in the Tutoring & Academic Support Center. Tutors are instrumental in supporting other CMC students' educational goals by modeling effective study habits and sharing their own strategies for academic success. Tutors may work up to 20 hours per week and for a maximum of seven regular semesters.

To start the process, fill out the application and include your unofficial transcripts and class schedule. You will have to reapply every year as the application packets will be archived. Duties and Responsibilities Some duties include: Meet with students in a one-on-one, group tutoring, or online tutoring setting Maintain confidentially Participate in trainings as required Provide students with positive and constructive feedback Qualifications 1.1

Eligibility Requirements To work as a tutor in fall or spring semesters, students must be enrolled in three units or more at CMC (not on a waiting list.) Students may work during the summer break without being enrolled in summer classes if they meet the eligibility requirements for the following fall semester; if not, they must carry three units during the summer session. To be eligible to work during the winter break, students must meet the eligibility requirements for the following spring semester. All student employees must maintain at least a 2.0 G.P.A

for continued employment; tutors must have a 3.0 G.P.A. in the subject area(s) of expertise.
