Job Summary:
Netflix is a leading entertainment company on a mission to entertain the world. They are seeking an engineering leader for the Page Systems Team to guide the development of high-throughput, low-latency backend systems that enhance the Netflix member experience.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of strong engineers building high-scale, zero-to-one systems.
• Drive architecture, design, and execution of product infrastructure systems.
• Develop a strategic roadmap focused on incremental delivery and high business impact.
• Define success metrics, align migration goals, and drive platform adoption.
• Communicate progress effectively to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership.
• Balance platform evolution by maintaining existing systems while prioritizing next-gen development.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a diverse, high-performing team, fostering an inclusive team culture.
Qualifications:
Required:
• An engineering leader with 4 - 6 years of experience leading backend distributed systems teams, platform experience is a plus.
• A leadership style that prioritizes giving and receiving feedback, fostering new ideas, and empowering others, without micromanagement.
• Ability to balance operating inwards to lead a high performing engineering team with operating outwards to build strong and effective partner relations.
• Strong technical acumen and ability to act as a technical advisor to the team.
• Focus on operational excellence of large Tier-1 systems.
• A track record of hiring diverse, highly talented engineers and growing successful, highly impactful teams.
• Excellence in communicating context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership. Ability to drive the team’s roadmap by connecting the dots between your team’s work and business needs, managing expectations, and navigating competing priorities.
• A BS or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline.
