Job description

AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in a seven-state territory in the Western United States. We are in search of a Product Owner I or Product Owner II of Digital Customer Experience to join our Application Services department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This full-time position reports to the Director, Product Management and is primarily responsible for organizing and communicating the strategy, roadmap, resource prioritization, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the digital customer experience including online banking, electronic signature, secure messaging, customer portals, and other digital online applications.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:

Level I: 
Typical starting range: $53,600 - $71,900
Full base salary range: $53,600 - $90,400
Annual performance-based incentive target is 8% of base.

Level II: 
Typical starting range: $66,200 - $88,700
Full base salary range: $66,200 - $113,600
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.

Level III: 
Typical starting range: $80,000 - $110,100
Full base salary range: $80,000 - $142,000
Annual performance-based incentive target is 12% or 15% of base depending on experience.

*Relocation assistance will be provided to eligible candidates who must relocate to accept this position. 

Essential Duties

  • Align product vision, strategy, roadmap and value proposition with organizational strategic goals; hold primary accountability for product team success.
  • Lead product team by communicating product vision, prioritizing business requirements and work deliverables, and ensuring appropriate resource allocation and coordination. Leverage team member expertise, provide coaching and share feedback with direct supervisors.
  • Act as an advocate for customers and internal teams; evaluate competing priorities and establish an appropriate course of action.
  • Evaluate emerging technology and relevant product features with a focus on assessing opportunities for enhancement and the ability to make it easier for customers to do business with AgWest.
  • Collaborate with the product team and the other Product Owners to manage shared cross-product and cross-project dependencies.
  • Lead product acceptance and readiness reviews with stakeholders to ensure acceptance criteria and test scripts for User Acceptance Testing meets organizational needs.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and providers to manage security and compliance requirements.
  • Work with organizational change management, learning and research and marketing staff on the development of the change management plan with a focus on customer adoption.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of AgWest business practices, products and key systems.
  • Work with teams supporting the future greenfield build of key software to help plan and design in order to align with organizational customer experience goals.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Travel Requirements

  • AgWest employees may occasionally be asked to travel for all-staff or team meetings not included in the standard travel requirements for the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Generally, requires three to five years’ related and progressively complex experience, preferably in financial services or related field
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to persuade, encourage and motivate others
  • Understanding of the customer segment, business priorities and how technology supports user experience
  • Ability to clearly describe complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; comfortable educating leaders and staff across multiple organizational layers on product and process changes
  • Advanced ability to develop metrics, perform critical analysis and deliver executive level proposals
  • Strong understanding of technology language and use of applications in business
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to clearly define requirements that capture business challenges and identify optimal solutions
  • Strong understanding of Agile, product management, project management and business analysis methodologies
  • Advanced writing skills with demonstrated ability to research, write and clearly communicate business information
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience acting in an Agile Product Owner or other functional leadership role
  • Formal Product Owner training preferred
  • Agile/Scrum certifications such as Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) preferred
