Job description

BARRINGTONย SCHOOL DISTRICT

2025-26 School Year

POSITION TITLE:ย Certified RBT

Under the direct supervision of the BCBA and in coordination with the Director of Student Services, The RBT provides high-quality behavioral therapy to individuals identified as requiring the services for anRBT. ย To be successful, one must possess both written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration skills, and interpersonal interaction skills. The RBT must implement care plans for children as identified. ย The RBT must assist with the delivery of behavior analysis services and practices under the guidance and supervision of the BCBA. The RBT will care for and work with children with various behavioral challenges and collaborate with the care team. He/She will assist in implementing care plans and work with RBT techniques taught by the BCBA to make improvements with/for the student. The RBT will collect data on programs, assist with staff training, and assist with assessments as needed. The RBT will facilitate behavior change by modifying maladaptive behaviors and replacing them with appropriate behaviors.ย

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Behavior Technician certification, as evidenced by completion of the RBT training course and examination.ย 
  • Minimum of high school diploma AND formal training in theories of Applied Behavioral Analysis, or Behavioral Support Interventionsย 
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous experience working with students who require behavior support.
  • Ability and willingness to work with multiple students, with a wide-variety of age ranges, as assigned by the Student Services Coordinator or Director of Student Services. This may include work at more than one building during the school year.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, use stairs, get up and down from off the floor, all with ease. Job will be physically demanding at times.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
