Job description

Diagnostic Radiologist / Medical Director
Southwest Florida | Full-Time 1099 | 2-3 Days Per Week
Emergency Solutions is recruiting an experienced Diagnostic Radiologist to provide clinical coverage and serve as Radiology Medical Director for a hospital-based Radiology program in Southwest Florida.
This is a long-term opportunity for a physician who wants to combine an attractive 2-3 day-per-week onsite clinical schedule with responsibility for providing physician leadership and oversight across the hospital's Radiology service line.
The Medical Director will provide overall clinical leadership for Radiology. The physician will not be required to serve as the mammography Lead Interpreting Physician under MQSA, as that responsibility will be assigned separately.
Schedule
  • 2-3 days per week onsite
  • 8-hour clinical days
  • Long-term opportunity
  • Full-Time 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Schedule structured around the clinical and operational needs of the Radiology department
  • Travel and lodging provided/reimbursed
  • Travel time and travel days are not compensated clinical days
Clinical Compensation
  • $4,000 per 8-hour onsite clinical day
  • First 50 wRVUs per clinical day included in the guaranteed daily rate
  • $45 per wRVU above 50 wRVUs per clinical day
  • Travel and lodging provided/reimbursed in addition to clinical compensation
Medical Director Compensation
Medical Director compensation is paid in addition to clinical compensation:
  • $7,000 per month Medical Director stipend
  • Medical Director stipend is separate from clinical productivity compensation
Full-Time Physician Incentives
  • $50,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • $30,000 Relocation Allowance
  • $80,000 Total Sign-On & Relocation Package
  • 3% annual COLA applied to the clinical daily rate beginning on the first anniversary
  • Travel and lodging provided/reimbursed as needed
Medical Director Responsibilities
The Radiology Medical Director will provide physician leadership and oversight across the overall Radiology service line, including:
  • Clinical leadership and oversight of Radiology services
  • Development and oversight of clinical standards and imaging protocols
  • Quality assurance and quality improvement
  • Physician peer-review participation and oversight
  • Physician performance and clinical quality oversight
  • Coordination of Radiology coverage and physician staffing needs
  • Collaboration with hospital administration and clinical leadership
  • Coordination with Radiologic Technologists and department leadership
  • Development and review of policies, procedures and clinical workflows
  • Accreditation and regulatory compliance support
  • Patient safety and imaging quality initiatives
  • Review and improvement of turnaround times and service-line performance
  • Coordination of PACS, workflow and operational issues with appropriate hospital departments
  • Participation in administrative, operational and quality meetings
  • Leadership in the continued development and performance of the hospital's Radiology program
Malpractice
  • $1 million per claim / $3 million aggregate
  • Professional liability coverage provided/paid
  • Tail coverage provided/paid
The Opportunity
This position is ideal for an experienced Diagnostic Radiologist with strong clinical and leadership skills who wants to help oversee and develop a hospital-based Radiology program while maintaining a highly attractive 2-3 day-per-week onsite schedule.
The physician will receive a guaranteed clinical daily rate, additional compensation for productivity above the established wRVU threshold, a separate Medical Director stipend, full-time recruitment incentives, travel and lodging, and malpractice/tail coverage.
