Job description

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We are seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to help drive our AI adoption strategy and deliver innovative solutions that improve business performance, operational efficiency, and decision-making. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will partner with business leaders and technology teams to identify opportunities, build scalable solutions, and deliver measurable business value.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI and advanced analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, OpenAI, and related technologies to create business solutions.

  • Build predictive models for forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization, and business insights.

  • Develop AI-powered assistants, copilots, and intelligent agents using enterprise data.
  • Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers to operationalize AI and analytics solutions.
  • Promote AI best practices, governance, and responsible AI principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in AI, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or Data Science.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with Generative AI, AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation.
  • Experience supporting supply chain, inventory, procurement, pricing, or distribution operations. ·
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience developing and deploying production-ready AI or machine learning solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Deliver AI solutions that create measurable business value. ·
  • Increase adoption of AI capabilities across the organization.
  • Reduce manual effort through intelligent automation. 
  • Improve forecasting, operational efficiency, and business decision-making.
  • Accelerate Wasserstrom's AI strategy and innovation initiatives.
