Wilson Middle School - Math and Science Teacher - Grade 6/7

Temporary - 1.00FTE

The expected start date is August 25, 2026, and the position is anticipated to complete on June 29, 2027, or will be based upon the return of the incumbent.

The competition will remain open until June 1, 2026 at 9:00am.

Subjects

Wilson Middle School is seeking a grade 6/7 Math and Science teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year! The successful candidate will also be responsible to teach grade 6 Physical Education and an Options course that will be confirmed prior to the position beginning. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who:

  • Has a background in Math and/or Science (preferred):
  • Has the ability to work closely with the staff to build a positive and inclusive school culture;
  • Demonstrates the ability and deep belief in forming positive and genuine relationships for the purpose of learning in an inclusive classroom;
  • Has knowledge and/or experience in the new curriculum;
  • Has successful experience proactively planning for behavioral and diverse/complex classrooms.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver's licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee's legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
