Ready-Mix Batch Plant Operator / QC Technician
Location: Boiling Springs, NC
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Ready-Mix Batch Plant Operator / QC Technician to oversee batching operations and ensure high-quality concrete production.
This position may also be referred to as a Concrete Batch Technician or Batchman.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate, calibrate, and monitor concrete batching equipment for accurate concrete production
  • Batch cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures according to mix specifications.
  • Monitor and adjust mix ratios based on moisture and weather conditions
  • Perform quality control testing, including slump, air, and moisture checks
  • Maintain accurate production logs and testing documentation
  • Coordinate production schedules with dispatch and delivery teams
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels and communicate supply needs
  • Troubleshoot batching and production issues as needed
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and plant housekeeping
  • Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company standards
Preferred Certifications:
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I, preferred from the American Concrete Institute
  • NRMCA certification is a plus through the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association
Qualifications:
  • Experience in ready-mix concrete batching or concrete production preferred
  • Knowledge of concrete mix designs and batching systems
  • Experience with computerized batching systems preferred
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to adapt to changing schedules and production demands.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Compensation:
$45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and ready-mix concrete industry background.
