Job Description
The Adjunct Manicurist Instructor is responsible for teaching assigned manicuring courses and labs, supporting student success, and ensuring that instruction aligns with the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners' requirements and Wilkes Community College standards.

Essential Duties Summary
  1. Provide instruction in manicuring, nail care, nail art, sanitation, and safety practices.
  2. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on demonstrations.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab/classroom environment.
  4. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
  5. Ensure compliance with the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners standards.
  6. Maintain accurate attendance and student records.
  7. Support student success and foster a positive learning environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Current North Carolina Manicurist
  • Current North Carolina Manicurist Instructor License (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student learning.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience in manicuring/nail technology.
  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a post-secondary, adult learning, or workforce setting
  • Experience with diverse learners and hands-on instructional environments.
  • Familiarity with community college or workforce education programs.
