Job Summary/Basic Function
Job Summary
The Department of Professional Education and Music at Central State University invites applications for a Math Instructor to support the Professional Education Program leading to Ohio teacher licensure. The successful candidate will teach mathematics content and pedagogy courses for P-12 teacher candidates and contribute to the mission of preparing effective, culturally responsive educators for diverse school settings.
This position requires excellence in teaching, commitment to student success, and active participation in accreditation, assessment, and service activities aligned with the standards of the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Teaching
• - Teach 30 credit hours per academic year, including mathematics content and pedagogy courses. • - Deliver instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
• - Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support.
Curriculum & Assessment
• - Assist with curriculum development and alignment with ODHE, Ohio Learning Standards, and CAEP.
• - Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
Advising & Student Support
• - Advise teacher candidates on academic progress and licensure requirements.
• - Support candidates preparing for OAE mathematics exams and pedagogy exams.
Service
• - Participate in department, college, and university committees.
• - Engage in professional development.
• - Collaborate with P-12 partner schools.
Minimum Qualifications
• - Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field.
• - Demonstrated successful teaching experience.
• - Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards and evidence-based math instruction.

Preferred Qualifications
• - Doctorate in Mathematics Education or related field.
• - Experience in educator preparation programs.
