Job Description:
The person in this position reports to the Shipping/Receiving supervisor and is responsible for safely moving materials to and from various work areas in support of production/operations.
Essential responsibilities will include the following (and similar related tasks):
• Scanning barcode labels in and out of locations
• Assists operations by setting up work-stations with needed materials
• Maintains organization in WIP storage and raw material areas
• Stages materials for oncoming shifts
• Performs required safety checks/inspections on PIT equipment at the start of each shift.
• Follows all safety protocols and OSHA standards regarding the operation of PIT equipment
• Utilizes other common shipping/receiving equipment, such as hand-held scanners and stretch wrap machines
• Comply with and support environmental policies and programs established by BTD, Inc., including ISO standards, activities, and procedures
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Minimum level of education: GED or High School Equivalency diploma is required.
• Previous work experience using powered industrial equipment/lifts/trucks
• Ability to follow directions, read in English, write legibly, and perform basic math calculation.
• Have excellent attendance, and safely perform the highest possible amount of quality work in the least or standard amount of time, following documented processes and procedures.
Physical / Environmental conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
• The employee is continually required to drive/operate a forklift.
• Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Continual exposure to loud noises, hot and humid conditions, or cold weather-related conditions.
• Required to wear company-provided protective gloves
• Protective eyewear is required in some areas
• Protective footwear is required.
Salary Description
$17.50 + 10% Shift Premium
