Job description

We are looking for a professional, experienced Media/Graphic Design Specialist to join the 6K Team!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual will support the Air University Teaching and Learning Center (AUTLC) which provides developmental support to faculty and students across all of Air University. The AUTLC builds, delivers, and manages resources and programming to grow and enrich the professional knowledge and capabilities of AU faculty and students. The Media/Graphic Design Specialist shall design and prepare a variety of audiovisual and graphic products for Academic Services and AUTLC, supporting media projects and products for incorporation into the University's learning programs. Other duties include:
  • Identify and develop media solutions and related technologies for using graphics, pictures, video, audio, computer animation, multimedia communications, or some combination thereof to meet education needs and complement facilitated instruction. Technologies include but are not limited to voice-centered technologies, web casts, instructional videos, and interactive video conferencing; media talks, podcasts, streamed presentations, virtual classroom environments, and web design and development.
  • Educate students and faculty on multimedia and graphical technologies, processes, and techniques to support teaching and learning.
  • Assist in the development, management, and maintenance of innovative online graphical/digital products and tools to inform and advance teaching and learning activities.
  • Assist in support of online resources including web design, graphic design, and content maintenance for html-based sites, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and SharePoint platforms.
  • Develop and produce educational products, which may include graphical, audio, visual, multimedia, web, or other format products, and/or integrate existing materials into other educational media (i.e., resident, distance and/or blended-learning).
  • Assist the AUTLC in converting legacy and instructor-led educational materials into engaging, interactive, on-line, and/or blended-learning formats.
  • Research, prepare, present, and participate in meetings, reviews, briefings, and teleconferences/Video teleconferences (VTC). Research and prepare slides, agendas, minutes, and other administrative products using the AUTLC's software and hardware; AUTLC is currently using Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel as well as Canvas as the AU Learning Management System (LMS).

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be certified in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Must possess significant knowledge and experience with creation and distribution of multimedia products applicable to teaching and learning such as video and audio presentations including the use of industry standard applications for creating and managing multimedia.
  • Must possess significant knowledge and experience with basic graphic design techniques that support teaching and learning including the use of standard applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Must possess significant knowledge and experience with online education processes, applications and techniques including management of HTML, CSS, social media, Learning Management Systems, and SharePoint and other Content Management Systems.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of creative thinking and the ability to translate conceptual ideas into tangible products under a deadline and with multiple stakeholders
  • Must possess eceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently on multiple concurrent, near on-demand, and high-visibility projects under a deadline.
  • Must demonstrate impeccable interpersonal skills and customer service ethos, especially in dialogic learning environments and consultation/coaching scenarios.
  • Prior experience teaching, training, and coaching adult learners is desirable.
  • Must be willing to travel (5% or less).
