Interview Process: Microsoft Teams with Video On, 1 - 2 rounds

Duration: Through 6/30/2027 with possible extension

Onsite or remote: Must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation allowed. Hybrid schedule. No consistent hybrid schedule; however, candidates should anticipate being onsite approximately once a month.

Project details: The selected candidate will play a hands-on senior technologist/lead role in the design, development, and modernization, and support of State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation applications. Java Developer IV – Department of Transportation

Overview:

The selected candidate will play a hands-on senior technologist/lead role in the design, development, and modernization, and support of State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation applications.

In addition to the development of new applications and tools, the candidate will provide technical expertise for modernization efforts of Java and .NET applications, such as upgrading Java versions, migrating the identity provider, accessibility upgrades, and transforming legacy applications to microservices.

We are looking for someone with strong experience in Java, C#.NET, ASP.NET, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, full lifecycle testing, microservice architecture patterns, and Agile project management methodology. 

Responsibilities:

-       Design and develop new applications, and enhance and modernize existing applications

-       Solve complex technical problems

-       Provide technical leadership to modernization efforts.

-       Develop testing methodology and criteria and implement them on automated build processes.

-       Lead efforts for modernizing Java and .NET applications following industry best practices.

-       Develop application presentation layers using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies such as Angular or React.

-       Provide technical leadership to moving applications toward a microservices and modern looking architecture.

Required Experience:

-       Java/J2EE (5+ years)

-       ASP.NET (3-5 years)
