Job description

TASK FORCE MAINTENANCE HELPER (Substitute Positions)
                                                                
DESCRIPTION:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking individuals to fill substitute task force maintenance positions.  Substitutes are on an 'on-call' basis, as needed, for building custodial/maintenance work in various schools in Romeoville and Bolingbrook.
JOB SUMMARY:  A task force maintenance helper may be assigned to any school in the district; to the Maintenance Department to be of assistance in whatever project is being undertaken; to the Grounds Department to be of assistance in whatever project is undertaken; or any of the district locations for varied types of assignments.  In addition, a task force maintenance helper is responsible for the safety of himself, as well as, that of his fellow employees and should learn to perform the job properly and safely without causing injury to themselves or others.
QUALIFICATIONS:  The applicant must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License and provide their own transportation to various sites throughout the district. In addition, the applicant must have the physical ability to perform a wide variety of assigned duties. A physical exam and negative tuberculosis (TB) test will be required prior to employment. 
WORKING CONDITIONS:  Generally, positions are available, when needed, to temporarily replace full-time employees.  Shift hours would be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  Weekly hours would vary.
