The Clinical Education Specialist operationalizes adult learning theory in designing, managing and delivering Franciscan clinical and non-clinical programs. This specialist role works collaboratively with subject matter experts and partners to influence quality patient care, promote teamwork, enhance staff performance through educational endeavors. This position works, as applicable, in collaboration with Human Resources, Franciscan Healthy Living Center (FHLC), Post-Acute Care Continuing Care Network (PAC CCN), and the Kathryn Weil Center for Education.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
  • Operationalize effective adult learning principles, and the ability to effectively create classroom and online (web-based) educational curriculum, programming, and materials to meet organizational needs.
  • Determine performance enhancement strategies in alignment with educational philosophy and needs of the organization.
  • Act as a resource for various departments in the areas of staff development, and provide insight into educational needs and requirements.
  • Consult with organizational partners in the creation of education, to meet the collaborating department's goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and classes and demonstrates knowledge of adult learning.
  • Develop, build, assign, and troubleshoot educational content in a Learning Management System.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing / Patient Care
  • Required 4 years Nursing in acute care setting Required
  • Required Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board Per Job Setting
  • Preferred Basic Life Support Instructor (BLSINST) - American Heart Association
  • Preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor (ACLSINS) - American Heart Association
  • Preferred Master's Degree Nursing/Nursing Education or CNS
  • Preferred2 years Educational or training related to healthcare
