Job description

Assistant Professor, Curriculum and Instruction
JobDescription
NortheasternState University's College of Education is seeking applicants for AssistantProfessor of Curriculum and Instruction on the Tahlequah campus. This positionwill require the candidate to teach courses as needed by the department in avariety of programs such as elementary education, special education, earlychildhood education, reading, and/or teacher education. This position is basedon the Tahlequah campus, however, travel to other campuses may be required.
Otherresponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing and sustaining aresearch agenda in an area of education, teaching a 12-hour load.
Preparingcurriculum that models the use of Oklahoma Academic Standards.
Teaching inmultiple delivery modes, which include but are not limited to electronicdelivery (i.e., blended, online), face-to-face, and arranged.
Preparing for andconducting class sessions and related activities that are relevant,challenging, and motivating, which are directed at school reform, schoolimprovement, and student-centered learning.
Availability during office hours,enrollment periods for advisement of undergraduate and graduate students.
Serveon College and University committees, participate in scholarly activities, andcollaborate with the area schools, community, and region to serve the missionof the College and institution.
Education
Qualifiedcandidates will have earned a doctorate in education from an accreditedinstitution. Candidates who are ABD in their doctorate may be considered(salary/rank commensurate).
Experience
Candidatesshould have the ability to contribute to and encourage collegiality,professional development, and scholarly activity while balancing the needs of adiverse faculty and student body.
Highereducation teaching experience in the field of education is preferred.
Candidates should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience in aP-12 classroom using a variety of research-based teaching strategies.
Currentteaching license required.
Candidates should have experience in problem-basedlearning, teaching with an array of distance learning technologies, andevidence of working collaboratively.
Salary$56,770.00 with excellent benefits
