Job description

I’m Leila Chanteau, Recruitment Consultant at FED Supply, specializing in recruiting professionals in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, and Procurement.
Today, I’m excited to present an excellent opportunity for a Dispatch Supervisor with a well-established company operating in the marine and ground transportation industry, recognized for its strong operations and dynamic work environment.

Mission

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the dispatch team. This is a newly created position designed to support the Director with operational management and ensure the smooth execution of daily dispatch activities.
You will act as the Director's right hand by providing hands-on leadership while remaining ready to step into operations whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of the dispatch department.
Lead, coach, and support a team of four dispatchers.
Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to employee development.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports using Excel.
Review dispatch schedules and validate data entered into the system.
Ensure compliance with priorities, procedures, and delivery deadlines.
Quickly resolve operational issues and support the team during peak periods.
Provide operational coverage for dispatchers during vacations or absences when required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and departmental projects.

Your profile

Experience in dispatching or within a trucking/transportation company.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
Strong hands-on leadership skills with the ability to motivate an experienced team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound decisions quickly and work independently.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience working with 53-foot trailer operations is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of AS400 is an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Requirements
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
Availability to participate in an on-call rotation one Saturday out of every four or five, working remotely from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00/1:00 p.m.

Salary between $75,000 and $85,000, with flexibility up to $90,000 for an exceptional candidate.
