Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with student interaction, grading, optional lecture, class preparation. This is a 9-month Academic GA position reserved for graduate students of BJU.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend all classes; assist professor however he/she needs help.
  • Take attendance and report on Avenue.
  • Send update/reminder emails to students on weekly basis.
  • Answer student emails as much as possible within 36 hours of receipt.
  • Provide instruction for students who have questions about class material.
  • Maintain regular, posted office hours to be available to students.
  • Schedule and organize tours for students at the direction of the course instructor.
  • Maintain class materials on CANVAS.
  • Administer and grade quizzes on CANVAS.
  • Evaluate and grade three art assessment reports and essay style midterm projects per student and provide feedback to the students.
  • Be committed to personal and professional development.
  • Present one lecture
  • Handle all student accommodation requirements.
  • Make seating chart using Seat Assignment maker in Student Central or with the help of the course instructor
  • Keep students informed of recitals, concerts, drama, and visual art events on campus.
  • Update CANVAS each semester before classes begin at the direction of the Course Instructor
  • Print and distribute handouts.
  • Support activities related to the academic school.

This GA position is available only to those pursuing post-graduate studies at Bob Jones University. Eligibility is based on the condition of having met the academic requirements for a student enrolled in a graduate program. To retain employment, you must be registered for and complete coursework for 6 to 10 credit hours each fall and spring semester.
