Job description

The Behavioral and Social Sciences Department in the Public Service, Arts & Sciences Division is seeking an Instructor/Assistant Professor to teach in its Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, and Geography disciplines.

The Behavior and Social Sciences department at Greenville Technical College currently employs 14 full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty who offer 100 traditional and online sections to approximately 3,500 students. In addition, the department offers Honors courses within the disciplines and also participates in the Early College Program, which provides high school students access to college courses.

In this challenging role, you will support the Social Sciences department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Teach Sociology courses
  • Utilize teaching techniques that foster student understanding
  • Evaluateย student work and submit grades in a timely manner
  • Maintain course-related records
  • Maintain scheduled office hours and meet with students as needed
  • Attend professional developmentย workshops as requested
  • Other duties as assignedย
