Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Developmental Mathematics Instructor to join our esteemed institution. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to student success. As a key member of our team, the Developmental Mathematics Instructor will play a critical role in providing a solid foundation for our students in the subject of mathematics. If you are a dedicated and knowledgeable individual with a drive to make a positive impact in the lives of students, then we would like to hear from you!

Developmental Mathematics Professor Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective lectures and learning activities for Developmental Mathematics courses
  • Provide individual and small-group support to students who are struggling with the material
  • Evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback on their performance
  • Collaborate with other Mathematics faculty and staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Engage in scholarly and professional activities that support the mission of our institution
  • Maintain accurate records and data related to student learning outcomes and other relevant information
  • Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in Developmental Mathematics teaching and learning

Developmental Mathematics Professor Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field
  • Minimum requirements, Master’s Degree and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Developmental Mathematics at the post-secondary level or experience teaching high school mathematics courses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching materials
  • Commitment to student success and a growth mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience using technology such as, Canvas and online tools to support teaching and learning
  • A passion for continuous learning and professional development

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None (unless otherwise designated by the department)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, including the human body.
  • Light work typically requiring walking or standing to a significant degree.

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Work is routinely performed in a standard interior/office environment.
  • Limited or no exposure to physical risk.
