Job description

ASSYST is seeking a GIS Analyst - Data Maintenance & Application Support to support a client's GIS program through GIS data maintenance, application support, and routine GIS maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro and Esri ArcGIS applications, GIS data editing and validation, QA/QC, geodatabases, and ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.
The position is based in Gaithersburg, MD and follows a hybrid work schedule.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Edit, maintain, update, and validate GIS datasets.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on spatial and attribute data.
  • Assist with GIS data cleanup, standardization, and documentation.
  • Update web maps, feature services, and existing GIS applications.
  • Assist with testing GIS applications following software updates or configuration changes.
  • Support routine GIS maintenance activities and special GIS projects as assigned.
  • Assist with GIS data preparation and map production.
  • Perform spatial analysis to support public safety operations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely GIS data updates.
  • Document completed GIS work and procedures.
  • Provide support for GIS application testing and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure assigned GIS data meets required quality and accuracy standards.

Required Skills:
  • Hands-on experience using ArcGIS Pro and other Esri ArcGIS applications.
  • Experience with GIS data editing and maintenance.
  • Experience performing GIS data QA/QC.
  • Understanding of geodatabases.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.
  • Strong understanding of spatial and attribute data.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Education:
