POSITION SUMMARY


The Theater Marketing & Online Content Manager is responsible for the administration, optimization, and day-to-day management of the organization's digital marketing platforms, websites, online communications, and client marketing support services. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all website and marketing-related requests, ensuring the timely coordination, implementation, and publication of marketing initiatives that support organizational goals and client success.

Working collaboratively with the Theater Sales Department and other internal stakeholders, the Theater Marketing & Online Content Manager oversees website content management, event calendars, digital signage, search engine optimization (SEO), online forms, and digital marketing systems. The position is responsible for maintaining an exceptional online customer experience by improving website functionality, user experience, and search visibility while ensuring brand consistency across all digital platforms.

This role also serves as the primary marketing liaison for clients, providing exceptional customer service by coordinating marketing assets, responding to inquiries, communicating promotional opportunities, and supporting time-sensitive marketing requests for high-profile events. In addition, the position develops and maintains operational procedures, tracking systems, analytics, and reporting that improve departmental efficiencies, facilitate communication, and support organizational decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in website administration, digital marketing platforms, SEO, HTML/CSS, analytics, and marketing operations. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional projects, maintain strong client relationships, and continuously improve digital marketing processes and the organization's online presence.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Oversee the intake, prioritization, coordination, and execution of all marketing and website requests, serving as the primary liaison for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain the organizationโ€™s digital marketing platforms, including website content management systems, event calendar software, website hosting, and digital signage solutions.
  • Creates and implements SOPs for both internal and external business.
  • Receive, format, and publish client-provided marketing assets across websites, event calendars, digital signage, and other marketing platforms, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and timely deployment.
  • Manage website operation coordinating with vendors to address concerns or technical problems in a timely manner ensuring client and company brand requirements are executed properly.
  • Create and manage various tracking documents for all necessary functions ensuring all client and departmental needs are met.
  • Coordinate with the Theater Sales Department to ensure event contracts, announcements, and on-sale dates are accurately communicated and integrated into internal marketing platforms through effective interdepartmental communication and software systems.
  • Develop and implement SEO strategy.
  • Assess and improve SEO through analysis of website analytics and implementation of enhancements to website pages, content, and widgets.
  • Create and modify website code (HTML and CSS) to enhance UI and UX website functionality, and overall site performance.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to high-profile clients by serving as the primary marketing contact, proactively communicating marketing opportunities, coordinating the collection and publication of marketing assets, responding to inquiries, and accommodating time-sensitive requests to support successful event promotion.
  • Manage online forms utilized throughout the department streamlining communications, increasing new business, creating departmental efficiencies, and timely communications to patrons.
  • Provide statistical reports to the theater sales department upon request.
  • Conduct research and compile data as requested.
  • Work collaboratively with the theater sales department to adjust marketing initiatives, SEO, and website content contributing to the overall organization priorities.
  • Support Theater Sales Department with maintaining accuracy of theater schedule for all four theater venues: Center for the Performing Arts, San Jose Civic, California Theatre, and the Montgomery Theatre
  • Work closely with the TSJ Ticketing Team to ensure event deadlines are met i.e. publish and announce dates, ticket on-sale date(s) and time(s) are met and correct, proper ticket links are added to the event listings and any event updates or add-ons are completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with TSJ Ticketing regarding the client event information form; follow up with client when the form is not submitted, review submissions to ensure accurate information and collateral requirements are met.
  • Prepare various Theater Sales Department documents, reports, notices, and special projects.
  • Attend and participate in weekly departmental meetings as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience in an entertainment venue or theater complex
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience in online marketing position.
  • Experience with web applications and an interest in new, cutting edge, developing technologies and online tools.
  • Experience with interactive design and beta testing
  • Mastery of social networking tools- such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest
  • Understanding of fundamental web design and principles, web usability, and information architecture
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, OpenX AD Server, Vertical Response, Microsoft Word, Google Analytics skills
  • Strong understanding of video production/editing and integration with web content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong copy writing and editing skills and the ability to create copy for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Must be comfortable speaking on the phone in a professional manner.
