SharePoint Online Administrator
ROLE
We need an experienced SharePoint Online Administrator for National Park Service, Denver Service Center (DSC). The Denver Service Center (DSC) Information Management (IM) Division provides enterprise-level IT support, application administration, and business process analysis to enable the design, construction, planning, and operational missions of the National Park Service (NPS). Over the last several years, the DSC has increasingly adopted Microsoft cloud technologies, including Project Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Power Platform, Azure, and Power BI, to modernize collaboration, data management, and reporting. To ensure these platforms are effectively administered, integrated, and continuously aligned with NPS business needs, DSC requires a SharePoint Online Administrator to document business processes, gather requirements, perform systems analysis, and provide user support for enterprise tool adoption. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for SharePoint Online, including provisioning Teams/SharePoint sites and project folders, managing permissions, and securing content.
  • Maintain an enterprise scale collection of division specific, custom folder structures, within each project SharePoint site
  • Provide support for Microsoft Project Online, including creating and updating projects, managing permissions, and maintaining lookup tables.
  • Gather and document requirements for new projects, enhancements, and system integrations.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops and prototyping sessions with business stakeholders to document current business procedures.
  • Translate requirements into structured user stories and establish acceptance criteria, including functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Conduct systems analysis and create design alternatives for projects involving new applications, enhancements, and system integrations.
  • Analyze feasibility of proposed changes and develop systems design alternatives, data models, and interface mappings.
  • Provide Quality Assurance (QA) support for modifications made to Power BI reports and assist in systems testing.
  • Provide ongoing customer support for SharePoint Online, including conducting informal training, researching technical issues, and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Coordinate project tasks, develop project documentation, and create test plans as needed.
  • Produce and maintain business and technical documentation to support IM projects.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or relevant discipline with some technical and/or quantitative basis
  • 2+ years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and producing user stories and acceptance criteria in an IT or enterprise systems context.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or administering Microsoft Project Online, SharePoint Online, or Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) in a business analyst or functional support capacity.
  • Experience conducting systems analysis, evaluating design alternatives, and performing quality assurance or user acceptance testing for software enhancements, reports, or enterprise workflows.
  • 4+ years of experience can be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Each year of completed masterโ€™s or PhD degree-level coursework equates to 1 year of experience

  • U.S. citizenship required since this role supports the U.S. federal government
  • Must be eligible to obtain a DOI Access Card and complete a background investigation in accordance with HSPD-12

  • No travel required

WORK HOURS
  • 40 hours per week, 8 working hours per day
  • Work hours will be conducted during Mountain Standard Time and depending on employee location, may fall between 6am and 9pm Monday-Friday depending on geographical location

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION

RELOCATION
  • Not eligible for relocation benefits

COMPENSATION
  • Salary Range: $87,000 - $95,000
  • Benefits: Benefits package includes options for health, dental and vision insurance coverage

Other Considerations: applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
