FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor- Computer Science.
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.

JOB SUMMARY:
This announcement is to assist in the building a pool of candidates for upcoming adjunct (part-time) opportunities within the Computer Science Program in the Department of Natural and Computational Sciences. Currently, we are recruiting for adjunct faculty to teach courses in Introductory Computer Science and any additional courses as needed by the Program. Courses will be offered in in-person, hybrid, and/or online modalities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach undergraduate level Introduction to Computer Science and related courses in a face-to-face, online, or hybrid format.
  • Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair and maintain University policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills and teamwork.
  • 2-3 years of experience at the university level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in teaching Computer Science undergraduate level courses.
  • Experience gained during graduate training will be credited at ยฝ time
