Job description

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

Several full-time positions available with the Water Department - Wastewater Treatment Operations Division
Location: 7300 Hawthorne
Pay: $22.61-$34.48 per hour
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. (1st Shift); Sunday-Thursday, 3"00p.m.-11:00p.m. (2nd shift); Monday-Friday & Saturday-Wednesday, 11:00p.m.-7:00a.m. (3rd Shift)

Responsibilities
  • Assigns work and participates in sampling, process control tests, check and operating equipment, line valves, evaluating unit process performance and maintaining a lean and safe work environment.
  • Evaluates laboratory results and operational data to determine the condition of processes and makes process control decisions, including changes in chemical dosages, filter operations and sludge wasting rates.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and line valves by writing Work Orders for preventive maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, up-to-date operational records.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment and processes.
  • Trains Plant Operators and PO Trainees in plant operations and maintenance and safety.
  • Uses computer for SCADA system, telemetry, factory talk and power BI.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES
  • High school graduation and
  • Possession of a B-level operator certification in water/wastewater issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
  • Must possess a valid State-issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination.
