Adjunct Instructor for Fundamentals of Engineering Design

Position Summary:
The Newark College of Engineering, Office of the Dean seeks applications for an adjunct instructor to teach the laboratory component of the fundamental of engineering design (FED101) GEN course. FED101 covers a variety of engineering concepts (such as critical thinking, 3D modeling, and coding).
Essential Functions:
- Develop and deliver lectures on 3D modeling concepts/software, electronic circuit building, various coding languages, and microcontrollers.
- Prepare assignments, design laboratory experiments, and examine student learning.
- Learn and use online course management system - Canvas.
- Hold office hours and meet with the rest of the FED101 instructional team on a regular basis.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Candidates should have at least an M.S. degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching university level engineering courses.
- At the university's discretion the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates should be prepared to teach on a face-to-face basis.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per contact hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
