Monroe Public Schools is seeking highly qualified and student-centered candidates for a
Secondary Mathematics Teacher (EX endorsement) position beginning no later than the

Position Summary
The Secondary Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering an engaging instructional program that promotes student achievement and fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning skills. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment that encourages all students to reach their academic potential and become lifelong learners.
Work is performed under the supervision of the building administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with the Michigan Academic Standards.
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology tools to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress through formal and informal measures and use data to guide instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners, including students receiving specialized services.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, professional learning communities, and school improvement initiatives.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and district programs.
- Support and uphold district policies, procedures, and the mission of Monroe Public Schools.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with an EX (Mathematics) endorsement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics content and instructional best practices.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Commitment to creating a learning environment that supports the success of all students.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching secondary mathematics.
- Experience utilizing instructional technology and data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
- Ability to foster student engagement and promote a growth mindset in mathematics.

Salary and Benefits
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Master Agreement and are commensurate with education and experience.
