Job description

Primavera is seeking dynamic individuals to join our innovative team as an Adjunct Science Teacher.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in secondary education and digital learning environments
  • Design and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate synchronous and asynchronous instruction based on state standards and best practices, while also incorporating social emotional learning strategies
  • Evaluate student work and data to drive instruction: regularly gather and analyze data from both formative and summative assessments to glean insight into how well students are understanding and mastering the material and adjust instruction, support, and intervention accordingly
  • Grade all student assignments within 24-48 hours of submission, providing developmental feedback for all student assignments
  • Establish rapport with students and their families while expressing the importance of consistent attendance and engagement to meet learning objectives
  • Provide proactive, timely, and consistent communication to students and parents regarding student progress and engagement through all available communication tools including the tools in the Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), and tools provided by the school for email, phone calls, and text messaging
  • Maintain and communicate accurate records of grades, attendance, and special reports
  • Maintain office hours daily between 8am-8pm, number of hours are dependent on course load
  • Provide support for students with IEP and 504 according to their plans and provide input for IEP/504 meetings
  • Properly document issues, concerns, and important information concerning students and their families in the Student Information System (SIS)
  • Enforce school policies, rules, and procedures in the virtual classroom and at in-person school-related activities
  • Attend monthly professional development

 The Successful Candidate possesses:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Arizona Standard Professional 6-12 Teachers Certification with Science Endorsement Required 
  • Current valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Teaching experience at the secondary education level required
  • Experience in online education preferred

Environmental Conditions:  Remote Teaching Position.  Candidate must have their own computer and a reliable and consistent internet connection.
