JOB SUMMARY

The Instructional Student Assistant will staff the Philosophy department's Logic Lab. They will be responsible for participating in the preparatory seminar, keeping the lab open and assisting students who visit the lab seeking help with their philosophy coursework. They may also provide online tutoring.      

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

Tutors will be at the Logic Lab providing help to students who seek academic mentoring.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate/graduate student at CSUSB
  • Must maintain academic eligibility throughout employment period (3.0 GPA or higher)
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and other students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tutors would preferably be taking PHIL 3100 this semester.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.
