Job description

Salary Range: $56,000 to $87,500 

Location

Chicago, IL; This position will follow a hybrid work-from-home/office model with at least three days in the office weekly 

Role Summary

This position is responsible for various aspects of product development with North American railroad vendors, including operational process improvement, cost control, vendor contract management, rate negotiations, and maintenance of railroad rates and routes in OPUS.  The main areas of responsibility for this position are:

  • Financial analysis of operations costs and budgeting
  • Evaluate proposals and process improvements from Sales, Marketing, and Operations groups on inland rail routings
  • Generates data and reports on key performance indicators and internal benchmark programs
  • Gathers data from company data warehouse and operative systems for use in analytical reporting and analysis tool development
  • Plans and executes strategy for short, medium, and long-term needs.
  • Ensures that all procurement services are carried out efficiently and in a sound economic way.
  • Managing the maintenance of ONE’s railroad rates and routes in OPUS.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining a relationship with rail vendors
  • Monitor railroad market and industry developments
  • Monitoring and reporting on service quality and addressing performance concerns with suppliers
  • Performing data analysis of cost expenditures and trends
  • Supports the Rail Strategy and Planning team in daily the proactive creation of, negotiation of, maintenance of, and compliance with contracts and service agreements.
  • Leads product improvement and new product development activities with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Liaise with ONE commercial teams regarding operational impacts to the networks of our rail partners

Required Minimum Years Experience

2+ years of rail and/or ocean carrier intermodal operations experience preferred

2+ years of experience with network planning or yield management focus preferred

Required Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferre

ONE NA follows a hybrid work schedule requiring employees to work 3 days in the office (i.e. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote each week.

Salary commensurate with experience means your pay will be directly proportional to your background, skills, and qualifications.
