Family Medicine Physician – Resident Education – Detroit, MI

Overview

Tenet Healthcare, in partnership with Detroit Medical Center, is seeking a board‑certified Family Medicine Physician to serve as full‑time core faculty for the Detroit Medical Center Sinai‑Grace Hospital/MSU‑COM Family Medicine Residency Program. The role supports resident education, clinical practice, didactics, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical schedule:
    • Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, no weekend call
    • 1 day/week for resident precepting and supervision
    • 1 day/week maintaining personal clinical practice/patient panel
    • 0.5 day/week for didactics, lectures, and curriculum development
    • 2.5 days/week administrative responsibilities
  • Participate in supervisory and teaching duties for residents in an outpatient setting
  • Serve as an advisor and role model for Family Medicine residents
  • Participate in recruiting new residents into the program
  • Maintain scholarly activity in accordance with ACGME requirements
  • Lead resident journal clubs and mentor senior projects, including research studies
  • Provide direct outpatient patient care
Candidate Requirements
  • MD/DO degree
  • DEA certificate
  • Board certification with the American Board of Family Medicine
  • Maintain CME credits
  • Licensed in Michigan or eligible for licensure in Michigan
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Knowledge of preventive medicine principles
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and community health centers
Work Experience
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine
  • Experience with outpatient medical faculty preferred
