Job description

The Clinical Research Budget & Effort Analyst is responsible for independently managing budget calendar build for clinical trials in the OnCore Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). This position ensures that budgets accurately reflect executed agreement terms, institutional standards, and study-specific financial parameters. Additionally, this position tracks study staff effort allocations within OnCore to ensure effort is appropriately offset to the applicable clinical trial budget. This process supports Workday offset accuracy and proper financial reconciliation across systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for building clinical trial budget calendars in OnCore CTMS, including budget amendments, in accordance with executed agreements, budgets, established guidelines, and institutional procedures.

  • Partner with OnCore CTMS vendor to ensure accurate and timely completion of budget calendar builds, respond to build queries, and perform quality checks to ensure compliance with institutional SOPs.

  • Participate in budget analysis and review to confirm financial accuracy and consistency between OnCore budgets, executed agreements, and billing designations.

  • Troubleshoot and test budget calendar builds, visit structures, and subject management issues in OnCore CTMS to ensure data accuracy and proper system functionality.

  • Track study staff effort allocations within OnCore to offset effort to applicable clinical trial budgets, supporting Workday offset accuracy and financial reconciliation in partnership with CRF- Accounting.

  • Collaborate with CRF Medicare Coverage Analysts, Financial Analysts, Accounting Specialists, study teams, and the OnCore CTMS vendor to ensure data consistency and assist in resolving budget build and effort discrepancies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of the clinical trials lifecycle required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Knowledge of computer applications (Excel, Word, Access) is essential.
  • Ability to navigate various finance software to develop reports and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of and experience in financial system applications and software
  • Ability to work effectively and independently managing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manipulate and understand complex information
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field required.
  • Experience with OnCore CTMS budget build required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience preferred.
