Job description

Role Overview
We are hiring an Onboarding Technical Trainer in Savannah to deliver and sustain standardized shop floor onboarding and WI-based qualification, providing hands-on training aligned to safety, quality, and standard work. Partners with supervisors and SMEs to validate proficiency, maintain training records, and reinforce continuous improvement through coaching and performance verification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Administer and execute standardized manufacturing onboarding, delivering orientation, safety, quality, and foundational training aligned with production priorities.
  • Plan and coordinate onboarding and training schedules with supervisors, area leadership, and HR to balance readiness, volume, timing, and production constraints.
  • Deliver structured, hands-on WI driven OJT using approved work instructions, job aids, checklists, and standard work documentation.
  • Coach new and existing employees to proficiency, reinforcing safe work practices, quality, operational efficiency, and Train the Trainer standards.
  • Validate trainee readiness through practical demonstrations and approved assessments; complete qualification and sign off documentation per established procedures.
  • Maintain and audit onboarding skills matrices, qualification records, and progress tracking to ensure accuracy, standardization, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor training effectiveness, communicate completion status and capability gaps, provide feedback on training materials, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • High school diploma required; technical certification or degree (Associate's/Bachelor's) preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of manufacturing/industrial experience, including onboarding, training delivery, and safety/quality processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety, quality systems, and standard work.
  • Familiar with WI-based training/qualification, skills matrices, and training recordkeeping (LMS experience a plus).
  • Able to plan and deliver onboarding through classroom and hands-on training with strong coordination and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Maintain training records, track progress, and support compliance/audit activities.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish or Japanese a plus.
  • Apply standard procedures, use sound judgment, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or LMS for tracking and reporting training.
