Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 Neonatal ICU position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring a BSN, active OR RN license, and a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience.
Details
- 46-bed Level 4 Neonatal ICU (NICU) within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
- Patient population includes critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns
- Admissions sourced from an on-site high-risk perinatal department as well as transport patients from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii
- Multidisciplinary specialist support available including endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Weekend coverage required
- Charting performed in Epic
- Floating within the hospital is required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- No on-call requirements
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; Charge RN references are not acceptable
- COVID vaccination documentation required; no exemptions
Additional Information
- Nurses participate in the education of nursing students and pediatric residents as part of the hospital's teaching mission
- Family-centered care is a primary focus of the unit
- First-time travelers are considered with 3 or more years of experience
- Candidates who were previously employed or on assignment at this facility must have been absent for at least 6 months to be eligible to return as a traveler; a reference from the supervising manager at this facility is also required
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 1 week and must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Scrubs are provided; no printed scrubs permitted
- Parking is available at a cost of $16 per day
