Description
Summary:
The Field Service Technician III is responsible for independently troubleshooting and repairing computer-based control and monitoring systems manufactured or supported by Beier Integrated Systems.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, diagnose, repair, and service proprietary and competitor generator components to include breakers, shutdown switches, wiring harnesses, alternators, and battery systems.
  • Work independently on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, electrical control maintenance, low/medium/high voltage and arc resistant theory, and on-site field estimation.
  • Promote cost reductions, drive accurate maintenance and service estimations, and increase part sales by consulting with other related team members.
  • Offer accurate resolutions and maintenance education for clients through successful technical support in intense, high-level risk or security environments.
  • Provide technical support and expertise for level I and level II field service technicians.
  • Must be available for on-call rotation per client needs.

Requirements
Competencies:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in electrical systems and field service.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and networking.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware failures and network issues.
  • Ability to travel regionally with occasional extended stay as required.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Ability to provide support and training to lower-level technicians

Educational & Experience Requirements:
  • Relevant technical degree or certification is a plus
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Prior experience with and/or exposure to PLC systems, shipyard, marine, or offshore environments is beneficial, but it is not required as we provide training specifically for our products.
  • Prior relevant industry software development experience preferred
  • Possession of an FCC license preferred
  • Experience in marine or industrial equipment maintenance preferred
  • Experience with PLC systems required
