Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
  • Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
  • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
  • Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform inspection of equipment/parts.
  • Provide training to other NOV Field Service Technicians.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to appropriate personnel regarding work progress and output.
  • Work at other NOV locations when required.   
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment; perform or arrange for calibration of equipment; and maintain equipment calibration records.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' NDE Level II experience required in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, UT A-Scan Thickness, Ultrasonic Shear Wave, and Ultrasonic Phased Array.
  • Must have NDE Certifications per SNT-TC-1A.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must possess a valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must provide transportation from home to the office.  Transportation to customers' location will be provided.
  • 24/7 on-call.
  • Offshore travel required (domestic and international).
  • Work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 150 feet.
  • Must be able to pass offshore safety classes including but not limited to offshore water survival (HUET), firefighting, and basic offshore safety induction emergency training (BOSIET).
  • Must be able to obtain a transportation workers identification credential (TWIC) card.
  • Must be able to pass an OGUK physical.
  • Must be able to pass and hold a Level II certification in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, UT A-Scan Thickness, Ultrasonic Shear Wave, and Ultrasonic Phased Array.
  • Must be able to pass the Jaeger II and Ishihara Test for vision.
