Facilities Technician
Location: Bethel, CT
Payrate: $19 / hour
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | On-site
***Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address after-hours emergencies.***
Ability Beyond is seeking a Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and repair of our residential and program facilities. This role is hands-on and essential to ensuring our environments are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Facilities Technician will perform routine maintenance, respond to urgent repairs, and support preventative maintenance efforts across agency properties.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general facility maintenance including painting, drywall repair, and minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
• Complete preventative maintenance and respond to corrective work orders using CMMS (Salesforce)
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues across buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Support HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs and upkeep
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address after-hours emergencies
• Coordinate with external vendors and provide updates on work progress
• Conduct routine inspections and identify opportunities for facility improvements
• Maintain tools, equipment, and agency vehicles in clean and working condition
• Assist with furniture assembly, locksmith tasks, and other facility-related projects
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license required
• 2+ years of facilities, maintenance, or related experience
• Experience across multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) preferred
• Trade school certification or OSHA/NFPA certifications are a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to respond to urgent situations, including after-hours calls as needed
