About the role:
The Data Entry Clerk will enter data sent from customers on labels and forms into our laboratory information management systems.
Position Duties and Scope:
The Data Entry Clerk 1 has the following duties:
โ€ข Accurately enter data received from customers into company database.
โ€ข Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
โ€ข Modify data periodically as prescribed by customers.
โ€ข Follow instructions by supervisor.
โ€ข Follow standard operating procedures.
โ€ข Send "problem" samples to customer service for resolution.
โ€ข Notify lab of changes to test packages, special testing requests, and/or priority testing (rush analysis).
โ€ข Efficiently process 200+ samples daily.
โ€ข Answer phones and assist customers as needed.
โ€ข Correct samples that are logged incorrectly and work with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.
โ€ข Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.
โ€ข Effectively research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.
โ€ข Assist with storage and disposal of client samples.
โ€ข Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
โ€ข Enter data received from customers accurately.
โ€ข Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.
โ€ข Modify data periodically as prescribed by guidelines.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED is required.
  • 0-3 years of laboratory experience is preferred
  • Must have good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and Internet based reference libraries.
  • The ability to accurately enter 200+ samples daily by the end of our training period.
  • The ability to learn all applicable Data Entry procedures.
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • High energy level, confidence and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends.
