Job description

Key Responsibilities:

 Laboratory Testing & Reporting

  • Execute approved test methods in accordance with controlled laboratory procedures, test plans, and applicable NSF/ANSI standards
  • Perform sample preparation, testing, and post-test handling in accordance with defined requirements
  • Record raw data, calculations, observations, and results in the laboratory data system (QLIMS)
  • Prepare clear, accurate laboratory reports and summaries for technical review
  • Ensure all test results are traceable, well-documented, and compliant with reporting requirements
  • Communicate testing results and key findings to internal stakeholders as required

Laboratory Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform routine equipment checks, calibrations, and verification activities based on approved methods and schedules
  • Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs
  • Assist with ordering, receipt, and inventory tracking of laboratory chemicals, consumables, and reference materials
  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and readiness for testing activities
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety requirements, chemical hygiene practices, and SDS documentation
  • Manage test sample storage, ensuring proper identification, segregation, and retention conditions

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of laboratory procedures, work instructions, test plans, and forms
  • Support alignment with ISO/IEC 17025 and NSF/ANSI standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory processes, systems, and reporting
  • Support the ongoing implementation and use of QLIMS and other laboratory systems

Equipment & Test Setup Support

  • Provide input and guidance on selecting, purchasing, and setting up laboratory test equipment
  • Assist in developing test methods and plans in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1–5 years of laboratory or related technical experience
  • Strong knowledge of basic chemistry principles and laboratory safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and manage data
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 or NSF/ANSI accredited laboratory environment
  • Experience using a LIMS or QLIMS system for laboratory data entry and reporting
  • Experience with analytical chemistry or water quality testing
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or experience supporting equipment setup and troubleshooting
