Brian Cox Mechanical, Inc. (BCM), an industry leading HVAC contractor headquartered in Poway California, has an opening for a Commercial HVAC Service Tech.
  • Rotate on-call status for emergency service
  • Knowledge of HVAC building code compliance
  • Converse with clients and general contractors, referring questions and/or problems to supervisor
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Complete all warranty paperwork and service related forms properly
  • Understand and communicate benefits of preventative maintenance
  • Basic customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly
  • Keep company vehicle clean and organized
  • Run after-hours service calls as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
  • Diagnose system problems, recommend and perform repairs
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make repair and replace decisions
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles
  • Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques
  • Type II or Universal EPA Certification

Technical Skills:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance of comfort cooling DX equipment up to 50-tons, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, refrigeration DX equipment up to 10-tons
  • Troubleshoot and repair fans, fan coils, furnaces, WSHPS, air handlers, package and split systems up to 50-tons, refrigeration equipment up to 10-tons, boilers, VFDs
  • Troubleshoot and repair cooling towers
  • Troubleshoot and repair boilers
  • Replace compressors
  • Perform start-up of fans, fan coils, furnaces, WSHPs, air handlers, VFDs, package and split systems up to 50-tons
  • Perform air balance
  • Access and navigate DDC systems through front end computer terminal
  • Navigate, clear alarms, reset and adjust parameters on VFDs

Salary Description
$19.00 - $48.00 / hour
