The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami School of Medicine seeks a Clinical Instructor. Main responsibilities include extensive direct patient care, night and weekend on-call, and staffing the residents in the clinics and operating room. The Instructor will assist in teaching and training residents in an Ophthalmic Training Program. Must excel in teaching and be willing to assume appropriate administrative responsibilities. Candidate must have an M.D. degree and accredited residency-trainingprogram in ophthalmology in the U.S. Candidates should be board certified or board eligible and hold a valid and unrestricted State of Florida Medical License or Medical Faculty Certificate.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.

Supervision Exercised:

Clinical Instructors are required to supervise and train junior residents and students in clinical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications (Essential Requirements):

  • M.D. or D.O Degree

  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program

  • State of Florida Medical Licensure

  • DEA Certification
