Job description

Position Summary:

Southwest Plumbing is seeking a skilled and dependable New Construction Plumber to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial new construction projects. This position requires strong knowledge of plumbing systems, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drain systems, fixtures, and gas lines in new construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing layouts and requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools.
  • Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, showers, and appliances.
  • Perform underground rough-ins and top-out plumbing installations.
  • Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Inspect systems for leaks and proper functionality.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential or commercial new construction plumbing preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
