- 10 Labor & Delivery Rooms
- 12 Postpartum Beds
- 2 Dedicated C-Section OR Suites
- 3 OB ED/Triage Beds
- 3 Antepartum Testing Rooms (used for OB ED overflow)
- Approximately 140–165 births per month
👩⚕️ Patient Ratios
- Labor: 1:1–1:2
- Antepartum: 1:1–1:3
- Mother/Baby Couplet Care: 1:3–1:4
- AWHONN staffing guidelines followed
✅ Required Experience
This is a true LDRP position. Nurses must be comfortable managing patients through the entire continuum of care.

- Pitocin titration

Things to Know Before Applying ✔ This is a High-Risk LDRP Unit Travelers are expected to comfortably care for patients from admission through postpartum discharge. ✔ Circulating C-Sections is Mandatory Every RN on the unit must circulate cesarean deliveries. ✔ Couplet Care Required You will care for both mother and newborn. ✔ Baby Catcher Assignment Some shifts you may be assigned as the NRP/Baby Catcher nurse depending on staffing. ✔ Floating First to Float May float to other Sacramento CommonSpirit facilities Mid-shift floating is uncommon but possible No in-house unit floating ✔ Call If placed on call: 30-minute response time ✔ Scheduling Every Other Weekend Holiday rotation with permanent staff Extra shifts and overtime often available ✔ Scrubs Hospital-provided scrubs
