Description
Introductory Practicum Experience
School Psychology trainee's complete introductory practicum experiences aligned with ISU program requirements, with The Baby Fold serving as a community and school referral partner.
At TBF, trainees may:
  • Observe and participate in school-related mental health services
  • Gain exposure to assessment, consultation, and intervention processes
  • Learn how school psychology services interface with community-based systems of care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams supporting children, families, and schools

Introductory practica requirements are determined by ISU coursework; however, The Baby Fold supports ISU trainees through school referrals, consultation, and service integration. Advanced PhD Practicum Experiences. Paid, Community-Based Practicum at The Baby Fold. Advanced practicum experiences are available for PhD School Psychology trainees seeking in-depth clinical, assessment, and systems-level experience outside of traditional school placements.
All advanced trainees:
Are placed at The Baby Fold Work under licensed school/clinical psychologist supervision Provide services that support school-aged children and adolescents.
School-Linked Psychological Services at TBF Advanced practicum trainees may engage in:
  • Cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments
  • Intervention planning and progress monitoring
  • Academic and behavioral intervention implementation
  • Consultation with caregivers, educators, and school teams
  • Integration of school-based needs with community mental health services
  • Support of students experiencing barriers such as:
    • Housing instability
    • Food insecurity
    • Access to medical, vision, dental, mental health care

Advanced Practicum Option 1 - School Psychology - Community & School-Linked Services
  • Advanced PhD School Psychology trainee
  • 2 days per week
  • August 17, 2026 - May 7, 2027
  • Minimum 1 hour/week of in-person supervision
  • Supervision provided by licensed school/clinical psychologist at TBF
  • Monthly stipend: $1,650 (paid by The Baby Fold)
  • Enrollment in ISU advanced practicum course and Learning Plan required

Advanced Practicum Option 2 - Psychoeducational / Neuropsychological Assessment Track
This TBF-based experience emphasizes advanced diagnostic training:
  • Administration and scoring of psychoeducational and neuropsychological measures
  • Case conceptualization and interpretation
  • Review and discussion of assessment results with supervisor
  • Exposure to interdisciplinary neurodevelopmental and mental health evaluations
