Introduction

Main Purpose of Job

To create a classroom learning environment in which assigned inmate students make measurable progress toward obtaining the introductory Electrical Wiring skills that are needed for entry level employment in the field of upon release. Successful completion of the course will prepare students for an introductory pre-apprenticeship course in the electrical trade; it will prepare students for entry level employment.

POSITION DUTIES

This position duties consist of but not limited to the following:\r\n\r\n\r\nProvide instructional support in a variety of methods to include whole group, small group and individualized instructional support consistent with the approved curriculum which results in their progress towards successful completion of the training program. The instructor will educate and guide students, ensuring a complete understanding of the Auto body curriculum and protocols and mandated by the school, state, and federal policies. Daily duties will include planning, conducting, and assessing classroom instructional activities such as residential wiring, introduction to commercial, and NCCER curriculum standards for introductory units to prepare students for employment opportunities upon release.\r\n\r\n\r\nPlan and organize time in advance to provide for effective instruction.\r\n\r\n\r\nUse informal and formal assessment tools to provide reliable and valid appraisal of student skills and achievement and preparation for the state exams.\r\n\r\n\r\nMaintain and submit program and instructional records in an accurate and timely manner.\r\n\r\n\r\nCreate a physical and interpersonal climate that is conducive to learning.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of appropriate educational credentials as determined by the Maryland State Board of Education. \r\nExperience: None. \r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n 1. Three (3) years of experience working in the Auto Body repair field.\r\n 2. Candidates who possess current Trades and Industry Certification with MSDE that is directly related to Automobile Mechanics.\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Teachers in State operated school programs are required to acquire and maintain certification to teach in the State of Maryland per Education Article, Section 6-101 of the Annotated Code ofMarylandand Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13A.12.01.03B(2). Applicants recommended for appointment will be required to complete an Authorization and Verification of Credentials. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
