Job description

SL Chasse Steel is seeking a detail-oriented and forward-thinking BIM & Reality Capture Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical job sites and digital modeling environments. You will be responsible for executing on-site 3D laser scanning, processing high-density point clouds, and converting reality capture data into highly accurate Building Information Models (BIM).

This position is ideal for recent graduates or technicians with hands-on exposure to architectural modeling, structural workflows, and field surveying technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

ยท        Field Reality Capture: Setup, calibrate, and operate 3D terrestrial laser scanners and optical instruments to capture comprehensive as-built site conditions.

ยท        Point Cloud Processing: Register, clean, and index raw spatial data from multi-angle scans into cohesive, coordinate-accurate point clouds.

ยท        Scan-to-BIM Workflow: Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM software to model architectural, structural, or MEP systems directly from point cloud data.

ยท        Quality Control: Cross-verify digital models against physical site notes and imagery to ensure data integrity and exact dimensional tolerances.

ยท        Collaboration: Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site superintendents to deliver actionable digital twins and construction documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

ยท        Software Proficiency: Strong foundational experience with Autodesk Revit and point cloud processing software (e.g., Autodesk Recap, Trimble RealWorks, or Faro Scene).

ยท        Hardware Exposure: Practical training or exposure to 3D laser scanners (terrestrial, structured light, or handheld) and modern surveying equipment.

ยท        Technical Understanding: Solid grasp of BIM methodologies, coordinate systems, and spatial data alignments.

ยท        Core Competencies: High spatial awareness, strong analytical troubleshooting, and excellent communication skills for field-to-office reporting.
