Job description

Job Title: Contract Lab Technician

Location: St. Charles, IL

Pay: $24.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm | Friday 8:00am–12:00pm

Job Type: Contract (April – September, 6 months)

About the Role

A well-established manufacturing facility in St. Charles, IL is looking for a detail-oriented Contract Lab Technician for a 6-month assignment running through September. In this role you will support product development by producing high-quality lab samples, operating lab equipment, and ensuring the lab runs smoothly and safely. This is a great opportunity for someone with a chemistry or science background looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional lab environment at a stable, growing company.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Set up and operate lab extruders and related lab equipment
  • Produce lab samples through extrusion, grinding, and spraying processes
  • Produce metallic lab samples using bonding mixers for bonding trials
  • Formulate using standard NAFTA formulations
  • Monitor lab runs for quality and machine performance; report any abnormalities to supervisor
  • Clean, disassemble, and maintain lab equipment per lockout and clean-down procedures
  • Maintain a safe and organized lab environment
  • Record and report data using basic computer systems

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree — Chemistry or related science preferred
  • 1+ years of lab or manufacturing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Safety-conscious with a willingness to follow all PPE and safety guidelines

Nice to Have
