We're looking for a strategic and hands-on data leader to define and execute the vision for our enterprise data platform and data products. Our Sr. Director of Data Products will own the intersection of data strategy, platform architecture, and technical execution-translating complex business, clinical, and operational needs into scalable data solutions that drive measurable business impact. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern data ecosystems, healthcare data, and technical product leadership, along with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing data organizations. This role is equally suited for someone who enjoys shaping long-term strategy, influencing executive stakeholders, and diving into technical architecture discussions with engineering teams.
Location: Remote Eligible
Salary range: $190,000 - $220,000 base salary. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus and equity participation. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.

What We Offer:
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Free Virtual Care - Telemedicine
  • 401k with company match
  • Referral Bonuses
  • Life Insurance
  • Make a difference in the lives of others!
  • We are growing and that means more opportunities

Key Responsibilities:
Data Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Own the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for Clarest's data platform and data solutions, spanning the pharmacy and medication management lines of business.
  • Identify, scope, and prioritize data product opportunities - including internal analytics, operational data products, AI/ML enablement, and external/customer-facing data offerings.
  • Translate ambiguous business, clinical, and commercial problems into well-defined data product requirements, success metrics, and phased delivery plans.
  • Partner with product peers and commercial leaders on packaging, pricing, and go-to-market for monetizable data products and platform capabilities.
  • Maintain a clear point of view on build vs. buy across data tooling, vendors, and managed services, balancing speed, cost, and long-term platform leverage.

Data Platform Architecture & Technical Direction
  • Set the technical direction for a modern, scalable data platform - including lakehouse architecture, data modeling, semantic layers, real-time and batch processing, and self-serve analytics.
  • Define standards and reference architectures for healthcare data ingestion and modeling against industry standards (HL7, FHIR, NCPDP, OMOP, claims, EHR feeds).
  • Ensure the platform is designed to enable AI/ML use cases - including feature stores, training data curation, vectorization, and integration with agentic and generative AI systems.
  • Champion data quality, lineage, observability, and governance as first-class platform capabilities, not afterthoughts.
  • Stay current on emerging data infrastructure, tooling, and patterns; assess and pilot what is genuinely useful for Clarest's environment.

Technical Data Leadership
  • Lead and grow the data teams responsible for data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and enrichment - supporting analytics, operations, AI/ML, and customer-facing products.
  • Establish development excellence across pipeline reliability, performance, cost-efficiency, testing, CI/CD, and on-call practices for data systems.
  • Drive enrichment strategy - applying ML, NLP, and rules-based techniques to turn raw clinical, pharmacy, and claims data into high-value, decision-ready datasets.
  • Own the SLAs and operational health of critical data products: freshness, accuracy, completeness, and uptime.
  • Manage vendor relationships and infrastructure spend across cloud data platforms, ensuring strong unit economics as the data footprint grows.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Operations, and Commercial leaders to align the data roadmap with enterprise priorities and customer needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the AI/ML function to ensure data infrastructure, pipelines, and feature engineering keep pace with model development and deployment needs.
  • Translate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and risks into clear narratives for executive, clinical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Represent the data organization in customer conversations, enterprise sales motions, and partner integrations as needed.

Team Building & People Leadership
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing data engineering organization; define org design, leveling, and career paths as the team scales.
  • Establish team rituals, technical standards, and a culture of ownership, rigor, and customer focus.
  • Coach managers and senior engineers; mentor across the broader product and engineering organization on data best practices.
  • Champion responsible data practices - privacy, security, ethics, and compliance - across the team.

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Must adhere to Clarest's Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer.
